Hygiene concepts in the language travel industry are working well

Press release, October 1st 2020

The FDSV members have drawn an initial positive balance in the handling of language trips under Corona conditions. The social distancing- and hygiene concepts of the language schools have also proven themselves in practice!

Language courses in European countries including Germany have been possible again since the summer.

Depending on the space available, language courses mostly take place in reduced group sizes. Language students are divided into “cohorts” and supervised by permanent teachers and chaperones. Some language schools also offer hybrid courses in which online participants are connected to live lessons.

Due to COVID-19, language travel operators need to be very flexible with regards to the planning and implementation of language trips. Language schools and operators also offer very flexible rebooking options which helps to give the clients the best possible sense of security.

After the positive experiences which have been gathered over the summer months, the language travel industry is feeling well-prepared for the Corona-based challenges – cross fingers that the rising number of cases is not going to subdue this slightly optimistic vision of the future.

More positive news: visas are now being issued again for long-term students learning German in Germany!

Orientation can be very easy. The Association of German Language Schools and Language Travel Tour Operators (FDSV) is an association of German language schools and language travel tour operators that stands for certified quality and helps students to find the right language course. .
